Overview
The PDB Report tab on an agent's detail page gives you a Producer-Database-style compliance summary for one of your producers, consolidating demographics, other reported names, contacts, addresses, licenses, appointments, and regulatory actions into a single read-only view assembled from the most recent NIPR data sync.
What is the PDB Report Tab?
The PDB Report tab is a state-by-state compliance snapshot of the agent, modeled after the official Producer Database (PDB) report layout, so you can answer carrier or auditor questions about an agent's full compliance posture without leaving Turris.
Who uses it. Compliance specialists and licensing managers at an agency. They open the tab when a carrier asks for proof of an agent's appointments, when an auditor wants a single document covering every state where the agent operates, or when an internal review needs to confirm there are no open regulatory actions before pushing the agent into a new market.
Outcomes you can drive from this tab:
Confirm the agent's identity at a glance: full name, NPN, date of birth, gender, citizenship, primary email, and any additional emails NIPR has on file.
See every alternate name the agent has reported (DBA, former, fictitious), with the type and the state where it applies.
Drill into a specific state to inspect that state's contacts, addresses, licenses, appointments, and regulatory actions.
Spot expiring or terminated appointments before they affect production with a carrier.
Generate a shareable PDF of the report, choosing which sections to include, delivered to your inbox.
Accessing the PDB Report Tab
Open the report from the agents list:
Left sidebar → Agents.
Click the row for the agent you want to inspect.
On the agent's detail page, click the PDB Report tab.
What's visible on the page
Element | Description |
PDB Report heading | Page title with the explanatory line "Producer-database-style compliance summary assembled from synchronized NIPR data." |
Download PDF button | Top-right action that opens the Email PDB report modal so you can choose sections and request a PDF copy by email. |
Demographics card | Source-of-truth identity fields for the producer, plus an alternate-name list when NIPR has one on file. |
Per-state record bands | One collapsible band per U.S. state that has at least one record on file, ordered by NIPR's state-code response. |
While the report assembles, the page shows the branded Turris loading animation with the message "Assembling the PDB report." If the report fails to load, an "Unable to load PDB report" panel appears with a prompt to refresh the page or try again.
Note: This view draws from synchronized NIPR data. If the agent's compliance data has not been synchronized yet, the page renders a "Compliance data not synchronized yet" empty state showing the current sync status pill (Not started, Queued, Processing, Failed, and so on) and a Go to Agents list button. The hint reads: "Find this agent in the list and click the Compliance Data column to start the sync." PDB content only appears once the agent's sync status reaches Synchronized.
Drilling into a state
Click a state band to expand it. The state's records load on demand and are grouped into up to five sub-sections (Contacts, Addresses, Licenses, Appointments, Regulatory Actions). Sub-sections with no records are hidden, so you only see the data NIPR actually returned for that jurisdiction. If a single state fails to load, an inline panel asks you to collapse and re-open the section to retry.
Reading the Demographics Card
The card at the top of the page shows the agent's source-of-truth identity fields. Empty values render as a dash (—).
Field | Description |
Full Name | The agent's first, middle, and last name as reported by NIPR. |
NPN | The agent's National Producer Number. Click the copy icon next to the value to copy it to your clipboard. |
Date of Birth | The agent's date of birth as reported by NIPR. |
Gender | The agent's reported gender. |
Citizenship | The agent's country of citizenship. |
Main Email | The primary email address reported for the agent. |
Additional Emails | Any other email addresses on file, with the main email excluded from the list. Shown only when NIPR returns more than the main email. |
Below the demographic fields, the card surfaces an Other Names list when NIPR has alternate names on record. Each entry shows the name, a colored pill with the type (DBA, former, fictitious, and so on), and the two-letter state code when the name is state-scoped.
Reading a Per-State Record Band
Every band header displays:
Element | Description |
State code pill | The two-letter state code in a colored chip. |
Record count | The total number of records across all five sub-sections for that state (for example, "23 records" or "1 record"). |
Expanding the band lazy-loads the records and groups them into the sub-sections below. Each sub-section header shows the sub-section name and a count badge with the number of rows.
Contacts
Per-state contact channels reported by NIPR.
Field | Description |
Business Email | The business email address on file for this state. |
Business Phone | The business phone number on file. |
Fax | The fax number on file. |
Updated | The most recent date NIPR updated the value (when reported). |
Addresses
Per-state address records reported by NIPR. Each row shows:
Field | Description |
Type | The address type: Residence, Business, Mailing, or Unknown. |
State / Country | The two-letter state code and country for the address. |
Street | Lines 1 through 3 of the street address (joined when present). |
City / ZIP | The city and ZIP code. |
Updated | The most recent date NIPR updated the address (when reported). |
Licenses
Each license is rendered as its own card with a header summary, key dates, lines of authority, and continuing education detail.
Field | Description |
License Class | The license class name (for example, Producer, Adjuster). |
License Class Code | The class code reported by NIPR. |
License Number | The state-issued license number. |
Status badge | The current license status: Active or Inactive. |
Residency | Residency status for this license: Resident, Non-resident, or Non-resident (no home state). |
Issued | Date the license was first issued. |
Last Renewal | Date of the most recent renewal. |
Next Renewal | Next renewal date on file. |
Each license card also includes:
Lines of Authority sub-table: every LOA on the license with its NIPR status (Active, Inactive, Expired, Suspended, Pending Renewal, Cancelled, or whatever NIPR returns), the status reason and date when reported, and the LOA's own continuing education status.
License-level Continuing Education panel: when reported, the CE compliance status, the renewal date, and any credits still needed. When NIPR returns nothing, it reads "No license-level CE on file."
Appointments
A table listing every appointment on file for the state.
Column | Description |
Carrier | The appointing carrier's name. |
Company Code | The carrier's company code. |
EIN | The carrier's EIN. |
Line of Authority | The LOA name and code the appointment covers. |
Status | Current appointment status. See the Status Values and Badges section below for every possible value. |
Last status change | The date the appointment last changed status. |
Termination Reason | The reason for termination when the appointment is terminated; blank otherwise. |
Note: The Last status change column reflects the most recent status-change date Turris has on file for the appointment, not the original appointment effective date. The column header carries an info tooltip that says the same thing.
Regulatory Actions
A table of every regulatory action reported by NIPR for the state.
Column | Description |
Action ID | The unique action identifier. |
Date of Action | Date the action was issued. |
Effective Date | Date the action took effect. |
Origin | Origin of the action (for example, state insurance department). |
Reason | Reason cited for the action. |
Disposition | Final disposition (for example, settled, ordered). |
Penalty / Fine | Any monetary penalty assessed, formatted in USD. |
Order Length | Length of the order in days (when applicable). |
Downloading the PDB Report as a PDF
When you'd do this. A carrier or auditor asks for a single shareable document covering the agent's full state-by-state compliance picture, or you want an archived snapshot of the report at a specific point in time.
Click Download PDF in the top-right corner of the page header.
The Email PDB report modal opens. It confirms the agent's name and the email address tied to your Turris account (the address the PDF will be delivered to). If your account email is still loading, it reads "We'll email the PDF to your account email when it's ready."
By default, every section is selected. Uncheck any section you do not want in the PDF.
Field | Required | Description |
Demographics | Optional | Identity fields plus the alternate-name list. |
Contacts | Optional | Per-state business email, phone, and fax. |
Addresses | Optional | Per-state residence, business, and mailing addresses. |
Licenses | Optional | Per-state license cards with LOAs and CE detail. |
Appointments | Optional | Per-state appointment rows. |
Regulatory Actions | Optional | Per-state regulatory action rows. |
Click Email me the PDF.
The PDF renders on Turris's servers and is emailed to your account email when it is ready. A confirmation reading "We'll email the PDF shortly — Sent to [your email]" appears, and the modal closes.
Tip: Leaving every section selected produces the full report. If you only need a license-by-state summary to send to a partner, uncheck everything except Licenses so the PDF stays compact.
Note: You cannot close the modal by clicking outside it or pressing Escape while a request is in flight. Wait for the request to complete, or click Cancel before submitting.
Warning: You must select at least one section. With no sections selected, the Email me the PDF button is disabled and an inline warning reads "Select at least one section to include in the PDF."
Status Values and Badges
The PDB Report uses the same vocabulary across every per-state section.
License status
Color | Label | Meaning | What to do about it |
Green | Active | The license is currently active in the state. | No action needed. The license is in good standing. |
Neutral | Inactive | The license is no longer active in the state. | If the agent is still expected to produce in this state, re-run the compliance data sync after the agent reactivates the license with the state regulator. |
Continuing education status (per license or LOA)
Color | Label | Meaning | What to do about it |
Green | In compliance | CE requirements have been met. | No action needed. |
Blue | Exempt | The agent is exempt from CE requirements for this license or LOA. | No action needed. Keep the exemption documentation on file in case of audit. |
Red | Not in compliance | CE requirements have not been met. | Confirm any outstanding credits, work with the agent to complete the required CE before the renewal date, then re-sync the agent's compliance data. |
Neutral | Not supplied | NIPR did not return a CE status for this license or LOA. | Treat as unknown. If CE compliance is material to your decision, verify directly with the state regulator. |
Appointment status
Color | Label | Meaning | What to do about it |
Green | Appointed | The agent is currently appointed by the carrier on the listed LOA. | No action needed. |
Red | Terminated | The appointment has been terminated. | Check the Termination Reason column. If the termination is unexpected, contact the carrier to confirm and decide whether the appointment needs to be re-established. |
Red | Expired | The appointment has passed its expiration date. | Coordinate with the carrier to renew the appointment, then re-sync the agent's compliance data to refresh the row. |
Yellow | Expiring | The appointment is approaching expiration. | Reach out to the carrier ahead of the change date to renew so production is not interrupted. |
Neutral | Not Appointed | The agent is not appointed by the carrier on file for this LOA. | If the agent is expected to be writing for this carrier, request an appointment from the carrier and re-run the sync once the appointment is recorded with NIPR. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the page say "Compliance data not synchronized yet"? The PDB Report depends on data pulled from NIPR. When the agent's compliance data has not been synchronized, the empty state displays the current sync status (Not started, Queued, Processing, Failed, and so on). Click Go to Agents list, find this agent in the list, and click the Compliance Data column to start the sync.
Why are some states missing from the per-state list? States with zero records on file (no contacts, addresses, licenses, appointments, or regulatory actions) are hidden so the page stays focused on jurisdictions where the agent has activity. If a state you expected is missing, NIPR did not return any per-state records for that state. Verify directly with the state regulator if the absence is unexpected.
What's the difference between the Other Names list and the per-state Contacts section? The Other Names list inside the Demographics card captures alternate names the agent has reported (DBA, former, fictitious). The Contacts section inside each per-state band captures the agent's business contact channels in that state: business email, business phone, and fax, plus the date NIPR last updated each value.
Can I edit anything on this tab? No. The PDB Report is a read-only view of NIPR-reported data. Corrections must be made with the relevant state regulator; once they flow into NIPR, the next compliance data sync refreshes the report.
How current is the data on the PDB Report? The report reflects the most recent NIPR PDB synchronization for this agent. Re-running the agent's compliance data sync refreshes every section together (demographics, other names, contacts, addresses, licenses, appointments, and regulatory actions).
Where does the PDF get sent? The PDF is emailed to the email address tied to your Turris account. The download modal confirms the destination email above the section list before you submit the request.
I requested a PDF but did not receive it. What should I do? Check your spam or junk folder first. PDF rendering can take a few minutes for agents with many states or many licenses; if the email still has not arrived after several minutes, re-submit the request from the Download PDF modal. If the problem persists, contact support.
Best Practices
Run an agent sync before reviewing the PDB Report. The report only renders content once NIPR data has been synchronized. Always confirm the agent's sync status is Synchronized before drawing conclusions about a missing record.
Use the per-state bands to triage. The state pill and total record count in each band header let you scan dozens of states in seconds. Open only the bands for the states that matter to the question you are answering.
Lean on the License cards for renewal planning. The Issued, Last Renewal, and Next Renewal dates on every license card are the fastest way to size up upcoming renewal work for the agent.
Watch for Expiring appointments. Yellow Expiring badges in the Appointments table are your early warning. Coordinate with the carrier before the change date to keep production lines uninterrupted.
Generate trimmed PDFs for stakeholders. When you only need to share a license footprint with a partner or regulator, uncheck every section except Licenses in the download modal to keep the PDF tight and on-topic.
Re-sync after material updates. When the agent completes a renewal, picks up a new appointment, or resolves a regulatory matter, re-run the compliance data sync to refresh every section of the PDB Report.
