Overview
The Overview tab is where you confirm at a glance who a producer is and which of your agencies they are placed at, before you move into their authority, licenses, or appointments. It is the default view when you open any agent from the Agents list, pairing the agent's identity (full name, NPN, email, date of birth) with a live count and preview of their active agency associations.
What is the Agent Overview Tab?
The Agent Overview tab is the single-screen identity card for a producer, built to answer "who is this person and which of my agencies are they on?" without opening any other view.
Who uses it. Licensing managers, agency operations leads, and principals at carriers and MGAs reach for this tab first whenever a question about a specific agent comes up, whether they are triaging a support email, preparing for an audit, or confirming a producer is set up at the right agencies.
You can use the Agent Overview tab to:
Confirm a producer's identity (legal name, NPN, optional email, optional date of birth) in one glance, with copy buttons on the NPN and email so you can paste them straight into another system.
See how many active agency associations the agent has in your tenancy, and whether any prior associations have been removed.
Scan the agent's active agency placements, each with the agency name, branch name (when present), and how the association was created.
Decide which agent view to open next: Agencies for the full association list and edits, Authority for product coverage, Licenses and Appointments for compliance status, or PDB Report for the raw NIPR record.
Accessing the Agent Overview Tab
Open Left sidebar → Agents. The agents list loads with one row per producer in your tenancy.
Click any row in the list. The agent detail page opens on the CRM view.
The CRM view lands on the Overview tab by default. The tab bar above the cards holds three tabs: Overview, Agencies, and PDB Report.
The agent detail page also carries its own view navigation, listing CRM, License Compliance, Licenses, Authority, Appointments, and Regulatory Actions. Overview, Agencies, and PDB Report are grouped together under CRM; Authority, Licenses, Appointments, and Regulatory Actions each open as their own view.
What's visible on the page. Above the cards sits a shared agent header: a circular initials avatar, the agent's full name, the NPN with a copy affordance, and the email when one is on file. Two cards stack below the header:
Element | What it shows |
Agent Information card | A grid of identity fields: Full Name, NPN, Email, and Date of Birth. The Email and Date of Birth tiles are omitted when no value is on file. |
Agency Associations card | Two counters at the top (Active Agencies and, when non-zero, Removed), followed by a preview list of up to five active agency rows. Each row shows an agency initials avatar, the agency name, an optional branch name, a source badge, and a green Active badge. |
The Overview tab itself does not open a deeper detail view. To act on the agent at an individual agency (edit their profile, review authority, or check NIPR sync), use the Agencies tab and open the agency row from there.
Reviewing Agent Information
When you'd do this. You need to verify a producer's identity before sharing their record with a market contact, or you want to confirm the NPN on file matches what NIPR or another system shows.
The Agent Information card is read-only on this tab. Every field reflects the latest data Turris holds for the agent across all of their agency associations in your tenancy.
Field | Description |
Full Name | The agent's first, middle (when on file), and last name combined into one display name. Example: |
NPN | The agent's National Producer Number, issued by NIPR. Hover over the value and click the copy icon to copy it to your clipboard. Example: |
The email address on file for the agent. Hover and click the copy icon to copy it. The tile is hidden entirely when no email is on file. Example: | |
Date of Birth | Shown as month, day, year. Example: |
Tip: The Overview tab is read-only. To change any of these values, open the Agencies tab, choose one of the agencies the agent belongs to, and edit the agent's profile from that agency's Agents view.
Reviewing Agency Associations
When you'd do this. You are checking which of your agencies an agent is currently placed at, for example before reassigning them to another branch, removing them from a defunct agency, or confirming you have onboarded them at every required entity.
The Agency Associations card combines two counters with a preview list of active placements.
Element | What it shows |
Active Agencies counter | A numeric tile showing the count of active (non-removed) agency associations the agent has in your tenancy. The label reads "Active Agency" when the count is 1 and "Active Agencies" otherwise. |
Removed counter | A second tile that appears only when at least one association has been removed. The number is shown in red so deletions stand out. |
Preview list | Up to five active agency rows, each showing a two-letter agency avatar (derived from the agency name), the agency name, an optional branch name beneath it, a source badge, and a green Active badge. |
"+N more agencies" line | Appears at the bottom of the list when the agent has more than five active associations. The complete list lives on the Agencies tab. |
Empty state | Reads "No active agency associations" when the agent has none. The Removed counter still surfaces any prior placements for context. |
Note: To inspect removed associations, switch to the Agencies tab. That tab exposes a Deleted status filter that surfaces removed rows alongside active ones.
Status and Source Indicators
Each agency row in the Agency Associations card carries a status badge and, when known, a source badge. The counters at the top of the card summarize the same information.
Indicator | Color | Meaning | What to do |
Active badge | Green | The agent's association with this agency is current and has not been removed. | Nothing. This is the expected state for a working placement. |
Removed counter | Red number | One or more of the agent's associations have been deleted in your tenancy. | Open the Agencies tab and turn on the Deleted filter to see which agencies the agent was removed from and when. |
The source badge on each row records how the agent was added to that agency:
Source badge | Meaning |
Invitation | The agency joined through an invitation flow. |
Addition | A member of your team added the agent directly. |
Bulk-Upload | The agent was created as part of a bulk upload. |
Market | The association was created through the Markets flow. |
Hubspot Sync | The association was created by the HubSpot integration. |
When the source is unknown, the badge is omitted from that row.
Filtering and Searching
The Overview tab has no filter or search controls of its own; it is a fixed snapshot. To narrow the agent's agency associations or search by agency name, switch to the Agencies tab.
Filter | Where it lives | Purpose | Example use |
Active / Deleted status pills | Agencies tab | Toggle between active and removed agency associations. | Investigating a deletion: open the Agencies tab and turn on the Deleted pill to see when and where the agent was removed. |
Free-text search | Agencies tab | Match against agency name or branch name. | Looking for the agent's placement at a specific branch: type the branch name in the search box on the Agencies tab. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the Email or Date of Birth tile missing from the Agent Information card? Those fields are optional. When Turris has no value on file, the tile is hidden rather than shown empty. Backfill the value by editing the agent from any of the agencies they belong to, on that agency's Agents view.
Why does the Active Agencies counter not match what I see on the Agencies tab? The counter only counts active (non-removed) associations. The Agencies tab can show both active and removed associations when both pills are selected. Confirm the same status filter is applied in both places before comparing the numbers.
Why are only five agencies shown in the preview list? The Overview tab is intentionally a snapshot. When an agent has more than five active associations, only the first five appear and a "+N more agencies" line is shown below them. Use the Agencies tab for the complete list with search.
What does the source badge on each agency row mean? It records how the agent was added to that agency: Invitation, Addition, Bulk-Upload, Market, or Hubspot Sync. The badge value matches the source recorded on the agent inside that agency.
Where do I see the agent's licenses, authority, or appointments? Those live on their own views for the agent. Open the Authority, Licenses, or Appointments view from the agent detail navigation. The Overview tab summarizes the agent so you know which view to open next.
How do I sync the agent's compliance data? Compliance sync is handled per agency association, not from the Overview tab. Open the Agencies tab to see each placement's NIPR sync status and trigger a sync from there.
Where do I edit the agent's name, NPN, or email? The Overview tab is read-only. Open the Agencies tab, choose any agency the agent is placed at, and edit the agent from that agency's Agents list.
Best Practices
Start on the Overview tab when investigating an agent. It is the fastest way to confirm identity (Full Name and NPN) and the active agency count before moving into Authority, Licenses, or Appointments.
Use the copy buttons on NPN and Email instead of retyping them. Transcription errors on a long NPN are a common cause of mismatched records.
Watch for a non-zero Removed counter alongside an empty active list. That combination means every active placement has been removed; open the Agencies tab with the Deleted filter on to see the history.
Add an agent to another agency from the Agencies tab. The Overview tab does not expose an add-association action, so use the association flow on the Agencies tab.
Treat the source badge as audit context. When the source reads Bulk-Upload, Market, or Hubspot Sync, expect the agent's data to be filled in by NIPR sync or an integration rather than entered by a teammate; check the PDB Report tab if a field looks wrong.
