Overview
Reports is the on-demand exports library where you pull a clean spreadsheet of your agencies, agents, appointments, authorizations, terminations, license and appointment compliance, surplus lines, or missing documents whenever an auditor, carrier partner, or internal stakeholder asks for one. Pick a report from the catalog, set a date range or product if the report needs it, click Run Report, then download the result as a CSV.
What is Reports?
Reports is the place you go when someone asks "send me a list of every agency you appointed last quarter" or "show me that every producer selling this product is licensed in every state we write in." Instead of building a query by hand, you open the catalog, click the report that matches the question, set the scope, run it, and export.
Who uses it. Compliance managers, licensing analysts, and operations leads at upstream carriers, MGAs, and wholesalers. They run reports for quarterly compliance reviews, carrier partner requests, regulator inquiries, internal audits, and routine book-of-business tracking.
What you can do from this page:
See every pre-built report your organization has access to, labeled by the entity it covers and the topic it addresses.
Run a report for a specific date range, a specific product, or your entire book of business, depending on the report.
Download the result as a CSV ready to attach to an email, drop into a spreadsheet, or hand to an auditor.
Narrow the catalog with the Entity Type and Topic filters when you know roughly what you need but not the exact report name.
Note: Reports is a premium feature included with the Tools add-on. If your plan does not include it, the page shows an upgrade notification instead of the catalog. Contact your account manager or support@turris.com if you need access.
Accessing Reports
Open Left sidebar → Tools → Reports.
The Reports page loads with the heading Reports and a count line directly beneath it, for example "16 of 16 reports" (the first number is how many reports match your current filters, the second is the total). Below the heading sit two filter groups, Entity Type and Topic, followed by a card containing the reports table.
The reports table has three columns:
Column | Description |
Name | The report's display name, in bold. Sortable; the table opens sorted alphabetically A to Z. Example: |
Entity Type | A colored badge showing what the report covers: Agency (blue), Agent (purple), or General (gray). |
Description | A one-line summary of what the report returns and how its scope is interpreted. |
Click any row to open that report's detail page. The breadcrumb reads Tools → Reports → [Report Name], and a subtitle under the heading tells you what input the report needs before you can run it.
Available Reports
The catalog ships with these reports out of the box. The exact list may grow as new reports are added.

Running a Report
When you'd do this. A carrier partner asks for a list of every agency you appointed last quarter, you need to confirm that every producer selling a particular product is licensed in every state where it is sold, or you are assembling a compliance packet for an internal or external audit.
From the Reports page, click the row of the report you want. The detail page opens with the breadcrumb Tools → Reports → [Report Name], the heading Report, and a subtitle telling you what to do next ("Select a date range and run the report", "Select a product and run the report", or "Click 'Run Report' to generate the report").
Set the report's inputs. Which inputs appear depends on the report (see the two tables below).
Click Run Report (the primary button with the play icon). It shows a loading spinner while the report runs, then the results render in a table below the controls. A success message titled Report Run confirms it finished.
To export, click Download (next to Run Report). The CSV downloads to your browser's default download location, and a success message titled Report Downloaded confirms the file was saved.
The inputs you may see, and when they are required:
Field | Required | Description |
Start Date | Yes, on date-range reports | The beginning of the reporting window. Once set, the End Date picker disallows any earlier date. Example: |
End Date | Yes, on date-range reports | The end of the reporting window. Once set, the Start Date picker disallows any later date. Example: |
Product | No | Defaults to All. On date-range reports it narrows results to entities tied to the chosen product. On the Compliance reports it scopes the compliance evaluation to that product's states and requirements. Leave it on All to skip product scoping. |
Which inputs each report shows:
Report group | Inputs shown | Run Report becomes available when |
Agency / Agent Appointments, Authorization, Terminations, and the three Overview reports | Start Date, End Date, Product | Both Start Date and End Date are set. |
License Compliance, Appointment Compliance | Product | Immediately, once the product list finishes loading. You may run with All selected. |
Surplus Lines, Missing Documents, Downstream Entities, Downstream Entity Contact Data, Agents & Contacts | None | Immediately. |
Tip: The two date pickers are linked. Once you pick a Start Date, the End Date picker blocks earlier dates, and vice versa. This stops you from setting an inverted range that would silently return zero rows.
Note: The Download button stays disabled until you run the report at least once. While it is greyed out, hovering it shows the reason ("Please run the report first", or "Please select a date range and run the report first"). Run the report, and the button activates.
Filtering and Searching
Two filter groups sit above the reports table. Both are multi-select badge groups: click a value to toggle it on or off, and combine selections to narrow the catalog.
Filter | Type | Purpose | Example use |
Entity Type | Multi-select badge group | Limit the catalog to reports about agencies, agents, or general roll-ups. | Pulling carrier-facing appointment data? Pick Agency and Agent to hide the General overview reports. |
Topic | Multi-select badge group | Limit the catalog to a workflow area. Options: Appointments, Authorization, Terminations, Compliance, Entity Data. | Preparing a state-by-state license audit? Pick Compliance to surface License Compliance, Appointment Compliance, and Surplus Lines. |
To clear a filter, click the active badge again to deselect it. The two filters combine: selecting Agency plus Authorization shows only reports that are both Agency-scoped and about authorization changes. If no report matches your selection, the page replaces the table with a No reports found message reading "No reports match the selected filters. Try adjusting your filter criteria."
The Reports page has no search box; use the Entity Type and Topic filters to find the report you want.
Status and Visual Elements
The Entity Type column uses a colored badge to communicate, at a glance, what each report covers.
Color | Label | Meaning | What to do about it |
Blue | Agency | The report covers agencies, agency networks, and wholesale brokerages. | Run it when the question is about firms, branches, or wholesalers rather than individual producers. |
Purple | Agent | The report covers individual agents. | Run it when the question is about specific licensed individuals, such as appointment letters, agent rosters, or contact lists. |
Gray | General | The report covers both agencies and agents, or general organizational data. | Run it when you need a combined roll-up and would otherwise have to merge two separate exports by hand. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Are reports run live or cached? Reports run on demand against your current data every time you click Run Report. There is no scheduled snapshot or cached output, so two runs of the same report can differ if your data changed in between.
Can I schedule reports to run automatically? Not at this time. Reports are run interactively from the detail page. If you need a recurring export, contact support@turris.com so we can prioritize the request.
Why don't I see the Reports page in my navigation? Reports is a premium feature included with the Tools add-on. If your plan does not include it, the page shows an upgrade notification. Contact your account manager or support@turris.com to enable access.
My date-based report returned no rows. Why? No authorization, appointment, or termination events occurred in the selected window for your book of business. Widen the date range, or set Product back to All to remove product scoping.
Do I have to pick a Product for the Compliance reports? No. Product defaults to All, and you can run with that selection. Picking a specific product scopes the compliance evaluation to that product's states and requirements, which is what you usually want when answering "is everyone selling this product compliant where it is sold."
What format is the downloaded file? CSV. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers, or any spreadsheet tool, and is safe to share with auditors and partners.
Can I customize a report's columns or filters? Reports are pre-configured. If you need a different shape of data, email support@turris.com with the report name and the columns you want; we use those requests to prioritize new variants.
Best Practices
Filter the catalog before you scroll. Use Entity Type and Topic to narrow to two or three candidates rather than reading every row of the table.
Match the report verb to the question. Authorization reports show entries into authorized status, Terminations reports show exits, and Appointments reports show every entity authorized at any point in the window. Picking the wrong verb is the most common reason a report "looks empty."
Use Overview reports for cross-entity summaries. When the request is "give me every agency and agent that became authorized last quarter," the Authorization Overview Report is one CSV; running Agency Authorization plus Agent Authorization separately leaves you two exports to merge.
Set the Product deliberately on Compliance reports. Because compliance is evaluated per product, the chosen product defines the state and authority scope. If you share a compliance export, confirm the product is right or the data will be too.
Pick the time-frame deliberately. Narrow windows (a single quarter) focus on recent changes; broad windows (a full year) support audits and retrospectives. On date-range reports, the optional Product filter refines the result; it does not replace the time-frame.
Save the CSV for the record. Reports run live, so the same report run a week later may return different numbers. If you are using a report for an audit packet, save the CSV at the moment you run it.
