Reports

Written by Sven Gerlach

Overview

Reports is where you generate an on-demand export of your organization's compliance data so you can review it inside Turris or hand it to a carrier, auditor, or internal team as a CSV. Each run compiles a fresh, structured view of your licensing records at the moment you click Run Report.

What is Reports?

Reports is a self-service catalog of compliance exports. You pick a report from the catalog, run it against your live data, review the results in a sortable table on the page, and download that same result set as a CSV when you need it outside of Turris.

Who uses it. Licensing managers, compliance analysts, and operations staff at agencies, MGAs, and BGAs. It is the tool you reach for when a carrier asks for a current license roster, an internal auditor wants a snapshot of every license across your organization, or you need a CSV to drop into a spreadsheet or downstream compliance workflow.

Key capabilities:

  • See the full catalog of reports your organization is entitled to in one list.

  • Open a report and generate a fresh result set against your current data on demand.

  • Review results inside Turris in a sortable, paginated table before deciding to export.

  • Download the most recent run as a date-stamped CSV ready to share or archive.

  • Cover both your top-level agency and every child entity in a single export, so you do not have to run the report once per branch.

Reports currently includes the License Management Export, which produces one row per state license held by your agencies and the agents associated with them.

Accessing Reports

  1. From the Left sidebar, click Tools.

  2. Click Reports.

The page opens to the report catalog. The catalog table has two columns:

Column

Description

Name

The display name of the report (for example, License Management Export).

Description

A short summary of what the report contains.

The catalog is sorted by Name (A→Z) by default. Click any row to open that report's detail page. The breadcrumb at the top of the detail page reads Tools → Reports → License Management, so you can click back to the catalog at any time.

If your organization has access to Reports but no reports are enabled yet, the page shows a No data available message instead of the table: "There is no data available because our system doesn't have any reports supported yet."

Note: Reports is part of the Tools workspace and requires the Tools product feature on your account. If Tools is not visible in your left sidebar, contact your administrator or Turris support to enable it.

Running a Report

When you'd do this. You need a fresh snapshot of your compliance data — a carrier has asked for a current license roster, you are preparing for an internal audit, or you want to send the licensing team an up-to-date export of every license across your agencies.

  1. From the report catalog, click the row for the report you want to run. The detail page loads with the subtitle "Click 'Run Report' to generate the license management report" above the controls.

  2. Click the Run Report button (the primary button with a play icon, in the controls card near the top of the page).

  3. A skeleton loader appears in the results area while Turris compiles the report against your live data.

  4. When the run completes, the results render in a sortable, paginated table directly on the page, and a green Report Run notification appears with the message "Report has been run successfully."

  5. Sort the result set by clicking any column header. Use the pagination controls at the bottom of the table to move through large result sets.

Tip: Each click of Run Report compiles a fresh snapshot. Re-run the report if you have changed data since the last run and want the on-page preview (and any subsequent download) to reflect it.

Downloading the Results

When you'd do this. You have reviewed the on-page preview and want to share the result set outside Turris, archive it, or open it in a spreadsheet for further analysis.

  1. After a successful run, click the Download button (the button with a download icon, next to Run Report).

  2. Turris generates a CSV file and your browser starts the download. The file name follows the pattern license-management-export-YYYY-MM-DD.csv, where the date is today's date in UTC.

  3. A green Report Downloaded notification confirms the export completed with the message "Report has been downloaded successfully."

Note: The Download button stays disabled until a run completes on the current page. Hovering it before then shows the tooltip "Please run the report first." If you reload the page or navigate away and back, click Run Report again before downloading.

Warning: If the report contains no matching license data, Turris still produces a CSV, but the file is named empty-license-management-export-YYYY-MM-DD.csv and its body contains the single line "No license data available." This is the expected result for an organization with no license records on file.

License Management Export

The License Management Export consolidates every state license held by the agencies and agents associated with your organization — including any child entities — into a single, exportable record set.

The on-page preview table shows the following columns:

Column

Description

Example

Entity Type

Whether the row represents an agency or an agent. Displayed as a blue badge; agency rows are labeled Agency and agent rows Agent.

Agency, Agent

Entity Name

The legal name of the agency, or the full name of the agent.

Acme Insurance Agency LLC, Jane Doe

NPN

The National Producer Number of the agency or agent. Click the copy icon to copy the value.

1234567

State

The U.S. state or territory the license is issued in. Displayed as a state badge.

TX, NY

License Number

The state-issued license number.

2345678

License Class

The class of license, capitalized for display.

Producer, Adjuster

Residency Status

Whether the license is held on a resident or non-resident basis, shown as a neutral badge. Reflects the value reported for the license.

Resident, Non-Resident

Status

The current license status. Color-coded (see §Status Indicators).

Active, Inactive, Pending

Issue Date

The date the license was originally issued, in YYYY-MM-DD format.

2022-04-15

Next Renewal Date

The upcoming renewal due date for the license, in YYYY-MM-DD format.

2026-04-30

Lines of Authority

Each line of authority granted on the license, shown as separate badges.

Property, Casualty, Life

A blank value in any column is shown as a dash (—) in the preview.

What the CSV adds. The downloaded CSV contains one column that is not shown in the on-page preview: Last Renewal Date (the most recent renewal date for the license, in YYYY-MM-DD format). It sits between Issue Date and Next Renewal Date in the file. The Lines of Authority values are combined into one cell, separated by semicolons (for example, Property; Casualty; Life).

Note: In the CSV, the Entity Type column carries the raw value Turris stores — DownstreamEntity for agencies and Agent for agents — whereas the on-page preview relabels agency rows to Agency for readability. The rows are otherwise identical.

Status Indicators

The Status column in the License Management Export is color-coded so you can scan for licenses that need attention. The label shown is the status reported for the license.

Color

Label

Meaning

What to do about it

Green

Active

The license is currently in force in the issuing state.

No action needed. The license is valid and the entity can transact business in that state and class.

Red

Inactive

The license has been deactivated by the state.

Review the entity's license status with the state regulator. If the license should still be active, work with the producer to reinstate it; otherwise remove it from any active appointment list.

Red

Expired

The license has passed its renewal date and has not been renewed.

Confirm whether the producer intends to renew. If yes, complete the state's renewal process before resuming business in that state.

Yellow

Pending

The license is in a pending state with the regulator (for example, application submitted but not yet approved).

Monitor the license — no business can be written under a pending license. Follow up with the producer or the state if the pending status persists.

Neutral (gray)

Any other status

The state reported a status that does not map to active, inactive, expired, or pending.

Open the producer or agency record directly and review the raw license status with the state to determine next steps.

Filtering and Searching

The Reports pages do not have dedicated filter or search controls. There is no search box on the report catalog or on a report's results — you organize what you see by sorting and paging.

Control

Type

Purpose

Example use

Column header click

Column sort

Re-order the catalog or any result table by that column.

On a result table, click State to group rows by state, or Next Renewal Date to surface licenses due soonest.

Pagination controls

Page navigation

Move through large result sets one page at a time.

Step through a multi-page License Management Export instead of scrolling one long list.

To narrow what ends up in a report, change the underlying data (for example, archive an agent association or update a license record), then re-run the report.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the Download button disabled? Download becomes available only after a successful run on the current page. Click Run Report first; once the on-page preview renders, Download unlocks. Reloading the page or navigating away clears the run, so you will need to run it again.

Why does the catalog show "No data available"? Your organization has access to Reports, but Turris does not currently have any reports enabled for your account. Reach out to Turris support if you expect to see a specific report.

Does running a report change any of my data? No. Reports are read-only. Running a report compiles a snapshot of your existing license, agent, and agency data; it does not modify any records.

What file format do downloads use? All report downloads are delivered as CSV files. The file name includes the report category and today's date in UTC (for example, license-management-export-2026-06-16.csv).

How current is the data in a report? Each run compiles the report against your live data at the moment Run Report is clicked. Re-run the report any time you want to refresh the preview or the download.

Does the License Management Export include licenses for my child entities? Yes. The export covers your top-level entity and every child entity linked to it, so a parent organization can produce a single roster for all of its branches in one file.

Why does my CSV have a column the on-screen table doesn't? The CSV is meant for analysis and archival, so it includes Last Renewal Date in addition to the columns shown on screen. The on-page preview is trimmed for quick review.

Best Practices

  1. Re-run before downloading. When you return to a report after some time, click Run Report to refresh the preview so the CSV reflects the latest data.

  2. Sort by Next Renewal Date before exporting. Click the Next Renewal Date header to surface licenses with imminent renewals, so the downloaded CSV is already ordered for follow-up.

  3. Open the CSV in a spreadsheet tool. Excel, Google Sheets, and Numbers all preserve the semicolon-separated Lines of Authority cell when the file is opened as CSV with default settings.

  4. Fix the source data, then re-run. Because there are no in-report filters, the way to change a report's contents is to update the underlying license, agent, or association records and run the report again.

  5. Share exports through your existing secure channels. Reports include license numbers and producer details that should be handled the same way as your other sensitive compliance records.
