Policy Document Upload

Written by Sven Gerlach

Overview

Policy Document Upload is the secure page you land on when a carrier or MGA you work with asks you to send in your renewed insurance policy, so the coverage they have on file for your agency stays current. You open it from a link in a reminder email, drop in your renewed PDF, and the document is filed against your compliance record automatically, with no login or account setup.

What is Policy Document Upload?

When your Errors & Omissions, Cyber, or Crime & Fidelity policy is about to expire, the carriers and MGAs you sell for need an up-to-date copy on file to keep doing business with you. This page is how you hand that renewed document over in one step, without emailing it back and forth or logging into a portal.

Who uses it. The person at an agency, wholesale brokerage, or agency network who handles insurance renewals, typically an office manager, compliance contact, or owner. They receive a secure upload link by email (usually triggered automatically when a policy is within the carrier's grace period or has lapsed) and use this page to submit the new policy.

What the page lets you do:

  • Confirm exactly which policy is being requested. The carrier or MGA name, your agency name, the policy type (E&O, Cyber, or Crime & Fidelity), and the expiration date are all shown before you upload.

  • Upload your renewed policy in one action by dropping in a single PDF. The upload starts the moment you select the file.

  • See immediately whether anything is even needed. If the latest policy on file is already current, the page tells you no action is required instead of asking you to re-upload.

  • Know the document was received through an on-screen confirmation, followed by a confirmation email once the document has been processed.

Accessing Policy Document Upload

This is a standalone, secure page. It is not reached from the left sidebar of the Turris app, and you do not need a Turris login to use it.

  1. Open the renewal reminder email sent to you on behalf of your carrier or MGA.

  2. Click the secure upload link in that email. The link carries a one-time token that identifies the exact policy being requested.

  3. The page opens and briefly shows Validating your upload link… while it checks the link.

  4. Once validated, the upload screen loads with your agency name and the policy details filled in.

Uploading Your Renewed Policy

When you'd do this. Your E&O, Cyber, or Crime & Fidelity policy has been renewed (or is about to lapse), and the carrier or MGA's reminder email has asked you to send the updated document so your coverage on file stays current.

  1. Open the upload page from the secure link as described above.

  2. Read the expiration notice to confirm the policy type and expiration date match the policy you renewed.

  3. In the [Policy type] Policy Document card, add your renewed policy:

    • Drag the PDF onto the upload area, or

    • Click browse to pick the file from your computer.

  4. The upload starts automatically as soon as you select the file. There is no separate submit button. While it runs, you'll see Uploading document… under the upload area.

  5. When it finishes, the card is replaced by an Upload Complete confirmation listing the file name you uploaded.

Field

Required

Description

Policy document

Yes

A single PDF of your renewed policy. Must be PDF format and no larger than 10MB. Make sure the coverage amounts and expiration date are clearly legible. Example: 2026-EO-Renewal.pdf.

Note: Selecting a file uploads it immediately. If you pick the wrong file, simply select the correct PDF again before leaving the page, or reopen the link from your email to start over.

Tip: Upload the full policy document (declarations page plus coverage details), not just the certificate or invoice. The expiration date and coverage limits need to be visible so the document can be matched to the right policy on file.

Warning: Only PDF files up to 10MB are accepted. A non-PDF file shows "Only PDF files are allowed," and an oversized file shows "File is too large." Re-save or compress the document and try again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Turris account or password to upload? No. The page works entirely from the secure link in your email. The link itself identifies the policy and your agency, so there is nothing to log into.

Why am I being asked to upload a policy? The policy your carrier or MGA has on file is at or near its expiration date. The reminder is triggered automatically once a policy is within that carrier's renewal grace period or has already lapsed, so they can keep current coverage on record.

Where do I click to submit after choosing my file? There is no separate submit step. The upload begins the instant you drag in or browse to your PDF, and the page shows "Uploading document…" until it completes.

What file types and sizes are allowed? Only PDF files, up to 10MB. Other formats are rejected with "Only PDF files are allowed," and larger files with "File is too large."

I uploaded the wrong document. Can I fix it? Yes. Before leaving the page, select the correct PDF again, or reopen the link from your email and upload the right file. If the link no longer works, contact support@turrisfi.com.

How do I know it worked? The page shows an Upload Complete confirmation with your file name right away. Once the document has been processed on the back end, you'll also receive a confirmation email.

My link says it's invalid or expired. What happened? This usually means your latest policy was already uploaded and nothing more is needed. If you don't think that's the case, reach out to support@turrisfi.com.

Best Practices

  1. Confirm the policy details before you upload. Check that the policy type and expiration date in the notice match the policy you renewed, so you don't send the wrong coverage.

  2. Upload the complete policy PDF. Include the declarations page and coverage details. The expiration date and limits must be readable for the document to be matched correctly.

  3. Keep the file under 10MB and in PDF format. Scan or export at a reasonable resolution. If a scan is too large, compress it rather than splitting it into multiple files.

  4. Use the most recent link. If you have several reminder emails, open the latest one. Older links may already be expired.

  5. Act before the deadline. Uploading while the policy is still in the grace period keeps your coverage continuous and avoids a lapse on the carrier's or MGA's records.
