Overview
The Corporate Registrations page is where you keep track of which states each of your agencies is registered to do business in, so you can spot any in-flight filings and jump straight into the agency that needs attention.
What is Corporate Registrations?
Corporate Registrations is the master list of every agency in your organization whose state business-entity registrations Turris manages on your behalf. Each row summarizes one agency's registration footprint and any filings that are currently in progress.
Who uses it. Licensing managers, compliance leads, and agency principals who are responsible for keeping each entity in good standing in its home state and in any foreign states where it does business. From this page they triage daily registration work and decide which agency to open next.
You can use it to:
See which state each agency is incorporated in (its Home State) at a glance, and flag agencies whose home state has not yet been set
Find out how many states each agency is currently registered in, and see the full list of those states without leaving the page
Spot which agencies have registration filings that need attention right now, and preview the type and status of each pending filing
Narrow the list to only the agencies that have pending requests so the day's work is in front of you
Open any agency's full registration workspace to act on a filing, upload documents, or set the Home State
Note: The Agency label adapts to your organization's category. Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), for example, see Claims Org in place of Agency. The labels in this article use the default.
Accessing Corporate Registrations
In the left sidebar, click Corporate Registrations (the building icon).
The page loads with a filter panel at the top, a search box in the page header, and the agency table beneath.
What is visible on the page:
Element | Description |
Requests filter | A single row of badges (Has Pending / No Pending) at the top of the page that filters the table by pending-request count. An info icon next to it explains "Filter agencies by pending registration request status." |
Search box | Free-text search in the page header (above the table), matching the agency's legal name and home-state code. |
Agency column | A circular avatar with the agency's initials, followed by the agency's legal name on the first line and the branch name (when present) on the second. |
Home State column | The state in which the agency is incorporated, shown as a state-code circle next to the full state name. Displays a Not Set badge when no home state has been confirmed. |
States Registered column | A green badge with the count of states the agency currently holds an active registration in. Reads |
Pending Requests column | A blue badge with the count of registration filings currently in progress for the agency. Reads |
Open an agency. Click anywhere on a row to open that agency's Corporate Registrations workspace, where the Home State, foreign-state registrations, and any pending filing requests can be managed.
Note: Corporate Registrations is a premium feature. If your organization does not have access, the page shows an upgrade prompt instead of the table. If the feature is enabled but your role does not grant access, an Access Denied message appears and the Ok button returns you to the previous page.
Previewing an Agency's Registered States
When you'd do this. You want to confirm which states an agency is already registered in before deciding whether to request a new filing, or you are answering a coverage question from a market or carrier.
Locate the agency row in the table.
Click the green badge in the States Registered column (the badge reads
<n> statesor1 state).A popover opens listing every state in which the agency currently holds a registration. Each entry shows the state-code circle and the full state name.
Click anywhere outside the popover to close it.
Tip: If the count is 0, the badge is grey and not clickable. That usually means the Home State has not been set yet. Open the agency to set it before requesting any state filings.
Previewing an Agency's Pending Filings
When you'd do this. You want to see what is in flight for an agency without opening its workspace, for example when scanning the list at the start of the day to decide which agency to tackle first.
Locate the agency row in the table.
Click the blue badge in the Pending Requests column (the badge reads
<n> requestsor1 request).A popover opens listing each pending filing. For each one, the popover shows:
The state code (in a circular badge)
The filing type (for example, New Registration, Report, or Amendment)
The current status badge (Pending Customer Input, Pending Turris Review, Filed, or Complete)
Click anywhere outside the popover to close it. To act on any of the listed filings, click the agency row to open its Corporate Registrations workspace.
Tip: If the popover is dominated by Pending Customer Input badges, that agency is waiting on your team. Open it next to clear those requests.
Filtering and Searching
The filter panel sits above the table and controls which agencies appear.
Filter | Type | Purpose | Example use |
Requests | Single-select badge group | Limit the table to agencies that have pending registration requests, or to agencies that have none. | Click Has Pending at the start of the day to see only the agencies that need attention. |
Badge values:
Badge | Behavior |
Has Pending (yellow when active) | Shows only agencies whose Pending Requests count is greater than zero. |
No Pending (green when active) | Shows only agencies whose Pending Requests count is zero. |
Neither selected | Shows every agency. |
The search box in the page header matches the agency's legal name using fuzzy matching, so typing Trav finds Travelers. It also matches the two-letter home-state code (for example, CA). Searching for a full state name such as California will not match, because the search keys on the state code rather than the displayed name.
Note: The Requests badge selection persists in the URL, so a filtered view can be shared by copying the page URL.
Status Indicators
Each filing in the Pending Requests popover carries a status badge. The color tells you who needs to act next, so you can triage from the list view.
Color | Label | Meaning | What to do about it |
Yellow | Pending Customer Input | Turris is waiting on additional information or documents from your team before the filing can move forward. | Open the agency, locate the filing in its Requested Filings tab, and upload the requested documents or respond to the information requests. |
Blue | Pending Turris Review | Your team has submitted the required information and Turris is reviewing it before submitting to the state. | No action needed. Check back, or watch the agency for status changes. |
Blue | Filed | Turris has submitted the filing to the state and is awaiting confirmation. | No action needed. The state's processing time controls how long this stays open. |
Green | Complete | The state has approved the filing and the registration is in place. | No action needed. The state is added to the agency's States Registered list automatically. |
Each filing in the popover also displays its filing type, drawn from the following set:
Filing Type | When it applies |
New Registration | Establishing a new corporate registration in a state for the first time. |
Foreign Qualification | Qualifying an out-of-state entity to do business in a new state. |
Report | The annual or biennial report required to keep a registration active. |
SOS Tax | A Secretary of State tax or franchise tax filing. |
Amendment | Recording a change to the registered entity (name, address, registered agent, officers, or stock structure). |
Withdrawal | Withdrawing the entity's registration from a state. |
Dissolution | Dissolving the entity. |
Reinstatement | Restoring a registration that has been administratively dissolved or revoked. |
Merger | Recording a merger involving the entity. |
Conversion | Converting the entity to a different legal form (for example, LLC to corporation). |
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Corporate Registrations missing from my left navigation? Corporate Registrations is a premium feature. If your organization has not enabled it, the link is hidden from the left sidebar. Contact your Turris administrator or sales representative to add it to your plan.
Why does an agency show "Not Set" as its Home State? The Home State (state of incorporation) has not been confirmed for that agency yet. Open the agency from the table and set the Home State. Until it is set, no foreign-state filings can be requested.
What is the difference between Home State and foreign states? The Home State is the single state where the entity is incorporated. Foreign states are the other states where the entity is registered to do business as a foreign entity. Each agency has exactly one Home State and may have up to 49 foreign-state registrations.
What do the numbers in the States Registered and Pending Requests columns count? States Registered counts every state in which the agency currently holds an active registration; clicking the green badge lists exactly those states. Pending Requests counts every filing request that has not yet completed, regardless of state or filing type.
Can I take action on a filing from the Pending Requests popover? No. The popover is a read-only preview. To upload documents, respond to information requests, or cancel a filing, click the agency row to open its Corporate Registrations workspace.
Can I sort the table? Yes. Click any column header to sort the table by that column, then click again to reverse the order. Sorting by Pending Requests is the quickest way to surface the agencies with the most outstanding filings.
Why is the table empty? If no agencies in your organization have any corporate registration information, the page shows a "No entities found" message reading "No downstream entities with corporate registration information were found." Check that the Requests filter is not hiding rows, then clear the search box.
Best Practices
Start your day with Has Pending. Clicking the Has Pending badge collapses the list down to agencies that need attention right now, which keeps you focused on actionable work instead of scrolling past everything that is already in good standing.
Confirm every agency's Home State before anything else. A Not Set Home State blocks downstream filings for that entity, so closing those out for every agency is the foundation of the rest of your corporate-registration program.
Use the Pending Requests popover to triage before opening an agency. The popover surfaces filing type and status in one place, so you can decide whether the agency is waiting on you (yellow Pending Customer Input badges) or on Turris (blue badges) before you click in.
Sort by Pending Requests when you have many agencies. Sorting descending brings the agencies with the most outstanding filings to the top, which makes it easy to see where the largest workloads sit.
Use search for agencies you already know. When you know the agency's legal name or its home-state code, the search box is faster than scrolling. Partial matches like
Travwork for the name.
