Privacy Policy Step (Onboarding with Turris)

Written by Sven Gerlach

Overview

The Privacy Policy step is the third and final screen of self-signup onboarding, the flow you complete after creating your own Turris account without an invite from a carrier or MGA. On this step you read and accept the two agreements that govern your use of Turris, and submitting them finishes onboarding and opens your workspace.

What is the Privacy Policy Step?

This step records your explicit agreement to the Privacy Policy and the Terms & Conditions before Turris lets you into the platform. Until both are accepted and submitted, you cannot reach your dashboard or use any feature.

Who uses it. The agency owner, principal, or licensing manager setting up the organization's Turris account through self-signup. Each person completes this step once, the first time they sign in after creating an account.

What this step lets you do:

  • Open and read the current Turris Privacy Policy and record that you agree to how Turris collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects your personal information.

  • Open and read the current Turris Terms & Conditions and record that you agree to the rules governing Turris's website, services, and APIs.

  • Finish onboarding and land in your workspace the moment both boxes are checked and you click Submit.

Accessing the Privacy Policy Step

You do not reach this step from the left sidebar. Turris places you on it automatically during onboarding, after the Identity and Additional Agency Details steps are done. The wizard tracks your progress and always returns you to the next unfinished step until all three are complete.

To get here:

  1. Sign in with the account you created during signup.

  2. Complete the Identity step and click Next. The wizard advances to Additional Agency Details.

  3. Complete the Additional Agency Details step and click Next. The wizard advances to Privacy Policy.

  4. The step opens with the heading Privacy Policy and the sub-heading "Read and accept Turris' privacy policy and terms of service".

Description

Progress sidebar

Lists the three onboarding steps down the left side: Identity, Additional Agency Details, and Privacy Policy. The first two show as completed; Privacy Policy is highlighted as the active step.

Step heading

The large Privacy Policy title with the sub-heading "Read and accept Turris' privacy policy and terms of service".

Privacy Policy checkbox

Unchecked by default. Its label reads "I acknowledge and agree to Turris's Privacy Policy, which outlines how your personal information is being collected, used, stored, disclosed, and protected." The Turris's Privacy Policy text is a link that opens the policy in a new browser tab.

Terms & Conditions checkbox

Unchecked by default. Its label reads "I have read and agree to Turris's Terms & Conditions, which govern the use of Turris's services, including their website and APIs." The Turris's Terms & Conditions text is a link that opens the terms in a new browser tab.

Submit button

Fixed near the top-right of the step. Stays disabled until both boxes are checked. The label is Submit rather than Next because this is the last step of the wizard.

Back button

Sits next to the Submit button. Returns you to the Additional Agency Details step.

Sign Out

At the bottom of the progress sidebar. Lets you leave onboarding and resume later.

Accepting the Privacy Policy and Terms

When you'd do this. Right after the Additional Agency Details step, when Turris asks you to accept the two agreements that govern your use of the platform. Set aside a couple of minutes so you can actually open and read both documents before you submit.

  1. In the first checkbox label, click Turris's Privacy Policy. The current Privacy Policy opens in a new browser tab at turrisfi.com/privacy-policy. Read it, then return to the onboarding tab.

  2. Check the box next to "I acknowledge and agree to Turris's Privacy Policy...".

  3. In the second checkbox label, click Turris's Terms & Conditions. The current Terms & Conditions open in a new browser tab at turrisfi.com/terms-and-conditions-for-agency-app. Read them, then return to the onboarding tab.

  4. Check the box next to "I have read and agree to Turris's Terms & Conditions...".

  5. With both boxes checked, the Submit button becomes active. Click Submit.

Field

Required

Description

I acknowledge and agree to Turris's Privacy Policy...

Yes

Checkbox. Records your agreement to the Turris Privacy Policy and to how Turris collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects your personal information.

I have read and agree to Turris's Terms & Conditions...

Yes

Checkbox. Records your agreement to the Turris Terms & Conditions covering the use of Turris's website, services, and APIs.

Note: Both boxes are required and are recorded separately. The Submit button stays greyed out until both are checked, and there is no way to skip either one.

Warning: Submitting records your acceptance against your account with a timestamp. Turris relies on that timestamp to show informed consent if a dispute ever arises, so only check the boxes after you have actually read the linked documents.

What Happens After You Submit

When you click Submit, Turris saves both acceptances and finishes your onboarding:

  1. A green Success alert appears at the top of the screen reading "Your agency has been successfully onboarded to the platform".

  2. Turris refreshes your session, recognizes that all three onboarding steps are complete, and sends you to your workspace home.

  3. Onboarding is now finished. The next time you sign in, Turris takes you straight to your workspace and never shows the onboarding wizard again.

Going Back to an Earlier Step

When you'd do this. You realize something on the Additional Agency Details step needs correcting before you finish.

Click Back to return to Additional Agency Details. If you have already checked a box on this step, Turris shows an Unsaved Changes confirmation first: "You have unsaved changes. Select 'OK' to discard changes. Select 'Cancel' to abort and return to the form." Click OK to go back, or Cancel to stay and keep your selections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to check both boxes? Yes. The Privacy Policy and the Terms & Conditions are two separate agreements, and Turris records your acceptance of each one independently. The Submit button stays disabled until both are checked.

Can I accept now and read the documents later? You can, but you should not. Turris uses your acceptance timestamp as evidence of informed consent in any future dispute. Open and read both linked documents before you check the boxes.

The Privacy Policy link did not open. What now? The links open in a new tab so you do not lose your onboarding progress, and a popup blocker can stop that new tab from opening. Allow popups for Turris in your browser, or right-click the link and choose "Open link in new tab".

Where can I find these documents again after onboarding? Both are always public on the Turris site: turrisfi.com/privacy-policy and turrisfi.com/terms-and-conditions-for-agency-app. The links on this step always point to the current version.

Can I fix something on the Additional Agency Details step before I submit? Yes. Click Back to return to Additional Agency Details, make your changes, and walk forward through the wizard again. See "Going Back to an Earlier Step" above.

Best Practices

  1. Read both documents before you check the boxes. Turris stamps your acceptance with a date and time, and that record only carries weight if you genuinely reviewed the documents first.

  2. Save your own copy for your records. Both pages are public URLs, so save a PDF of each before you click Submit. That way you know exactly which version you agreed to.

  3. Loop in legal if anything is unclear. Have your general counsel or compliance lead review the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions before you finalize. Both agreements take effect the moment you submit, so do not click Submit just to see what happens.
