Overview
Distribution Management is the one-click bridge from your agency account into the carrier or MGA account that Turris has linked to it, so you can stop managing your own compliance for a moment and switch to managing the agencies and agents who distribute your products.
What is Distribution Management?
If your organization runs as both a distributor (an agency) and a product owner (a carrier or MGA), you keep two sides of the business in Turris. Distribution Management lets you jump from the agency side, where you track your own licenses and appointments, straight into the carrier or MGA side, where you oversee everyone who sells on your behalf, without logging out and back in.
Who uses it. Principals, compliance managers, and operations staff at organizations that wear two hats: they are appointed by markets as an agency and they appoint their own downstream agencies and agents as a carrier or MGA. These users move between the two roles during a normal working day.
With Distribution Management you can:
Step into your carrier or MGA workspace in a single click, carrying your existing login with you.
Manage the agencies and agents that distribute your products, including their appointments and license compliance, from the carrier or MGA side.
Keep your agency compliance work and your distribution-network oversight in separate, purpose-built workspaces instead of one cluttered view.
Switch back to your agency account whenever you need to, using the same account switcher you already use.
Accessing Distribution Management
Look at the left sidebar. Near the bottom, below your operational items (Agencies, Agents, Markets, License Management, and so on), you will see Distribution Management with a diagonal up-right arrow icon.
Click Distribution Management.
The arrow icon is intentional: this item does not open another page inside your agency account. It moves you into a different account.
What's visible after you click
While Turris completes the switch, a short transitional screen appears. It contains:
Element | What it shows |
Distribution Management message box | A confirmation reading "We're trying to switch you to your linked entity:" followed by the legal name of your carrier or MGA account, so you can confirm you are landing in the right place. |
Loading indicator | A spinner shown while Turris finishes moving you into the carrier or MGA account. |
Once the switch finishes, you land in your carrier or MGA workspace. The left sidebar then shows that account's tools (its agencies, agents, appointments, license compliance, and reports) rather than your agency tools.
Switching to Your Carrier or MGA Account
When you'd do this. You manage both an agency and a carrier or MGA in Turris, and you need to step over to the carrier or MGA side to onboard a new producing agency, check whether your distributors are appointed in the states where they sell, or review the license compliance of your distribution network.
Open Left sidebar → Distribution Management.
Turris immediately switches your session into the linked carrier or MGA account. The transitional screen confirms the account name while the switch completes.
You land in your carrier or MGA workspace. Use that account's left sidebar to manage your distribution network.
Note: The switch happens with a single click. There is no confirmation prompt, which is why the option only appears once Turris has a carrier or MGA account linked to your agency account.
Tip: To return to your agency account, open your account menu at the top of the sidebar and choose Change Account, then pick your agency account from the list. This is the same switcher you use to move between any Turris accounts you belong to.
Page States
Distribution Management can show one of three states depending on your plan and your account setup. Each tells you whether the switch is available and what to do if it is not.
State | When you see it | What to do |
Switching | Right after you click Distribution Management. The Distribution Management message box names your linked carrier or MGA and a loader runs. | Nothing. Wait a moment for Turris to finish moving you into the carrier or MGA workspace. |
No Linked Carrier | You reach the page but your agency account has no carrier or MGA account connected to it. The message reads "Your organization does not have a linked carrier configured." | Contact Turris support to set up the link between your agency account and your carrier or MGA account. The connection is configured by Turris, not self-serve. |
Feature not available | Distribution Management is missing from your sidebar, or the page shows an upgrade prompt. | Your plan does not include the Distribution Management feature. Contact Turris support or your account manager to enable it. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't I see Distribution Management in my sidebar? Either your plan does not include the Distribution Management feature, or your agency account is not yet linked to a carrier or MGA account. Both are set up by Turris. Contact support to enable the feature or create the link.
I clicked Distribution Management and saw "No Linked Carrier". What does that mean? It means your organization does not yet have a carrier or MGA account connected to your agency account. Reach out to Turris support to configure the connection, and the option will start working.
Do I need to log in again after switching? No. Turris carries your existing login into the carrier or MGA account, so the switch is seamless. If this is your first time switching, Turris also sets up your user in that account using the same name and access level you have on the agency side.
How do I get back to my agency account? Open your account menu at the top of the sidebar and choose Change Account, then select your agency account from the list.
Will my agency data get mixed with my carrier or MGA data? No. The two accounts stay completely separate. Switching only changes which account you are working in. Each keeps its own agencies, agents, appointments, and compliance records.
Best Practices
Confirm the account name before you start working. Distribution Management changes which account you are acting in. Check the workspace name on the transitional screen, and again in your account menu, so you never make changes in the wrong account.
Use Change Account to move back, not a fresh login. Switching accounts through the account menu keeps your single session intact. Logging out and back in is slower and unnecessary.
Route setup requests to Turris support. If Distribution Management is missing or shows "No Linked Carrier", the entitlement or the account link is configured by Turris. Ask support to set it up rather than creating a second, unconnected account yourself.
